# Hermes as the Ultimate Analyst - I've found the gist for my ultimate analyst

This article is an amalgamation of countless hours of trial-and-error, tinkering with Hermes setup with the goal of creating the ultimate investment analyst.
My current Hermes is by no means in his final form. He’s in his first Frieza form, learning about the world, delivering ok outputs, and being eager to do more.
Before we get to how I’m using Hermes right now, let me share my latest discovery with you first.
## Sharing fresh thoughts on last week’s setup

In last week’s Hermes article (Part III), we’ve talked about Claude as the builder and Hermes as the operator mindset. I love that setup a lot because it’s really non-technical friendly — Claude visuals & designs are great, they have features like artifacts, site previews, Claude Design which aid your understanding and help you create visuals.
You can literally do everything in one Claude Desktop terminal and link that with Hermes.
The downside to this is that Claude is quite expensive — $20 Pro plan is just a teaser, you need to buy $100 Max plan to be able to build stuff.
> Like me, if you don’t have unlimited money, it’s better to either switch to Codex (because they’re much more generous) or just stick with Hermes alone and use Hermes as both the builder and the operator.
## OpenWebUI and Hermes Workspace
The real unlock with Hermes happens when I started exploring using Hermes with other medium beyond Discord.
Sure, Discord is great BUT you can’t really see visuals, html, or get that Claude artifacts experience.
This is where OpenWebUI comes in
OpenWebUI transforms the experience of talking with your agent to using a ChatGPT or a Claude. Seamless experience, great for building/designing something.
The screenshot is me prompting Hermes to design a visual explainer of OpenWebUI. Hermes designs a HTML and shows it within the same chat.
I’m using Hermes agent setup here but you can also switch it to using a LLM (without agent harness attached) and use those to test things out as well.
As for Hermes Workspace,
I’m still not there yet. There are features like Swarm where you can run multiple agents to compete a mission. Apparently great for developer use cases.
You can also see key items/files like Skills, Tasks, Memory, Soul and edit them directly. It feels like Hermes command center that has everything together in one interface. Since I don’t know how to properly use this, I’m not there yet lol.
## Hermes as the Ultimate Analyst
Here’s how I’m using Hermes right now
## 1. Daily Briefing on what’s happening in the last 24hr
The most useful tool here is X API. It’s not free but it’s pretty reliable.
For every single report, Hermes tracks certain accounts, synthesizes, summarizes and explains why it matters for me and my portfolio.
Report on Tech: Hermes tracks @SemiAnalysis_ and other accounts
Report on Macro: Hermes tracks @KobeissiLetter and other news sources
X Bookmark Briefing: Hermes queries my X bookmark in the last 24hr and go through them with scoring to let me know which one to prioritize first. I can then ask it to summarize the ones that I like.
Top 5 Daily Synthesis: Hermes reflects on other briefing that’s happening on the day, picks the top 5 insights and explains why it matters
Polybond Morning Brief: Hermes looks at Polybond (my personal Polymarket dashboard) to surface potential insiders, sharp signals, trends and drop them daily. If I want more details, I can go into the dashboard and learn more.
Daily briefings = my personal fav right now because I don’t have to spend time scrolling through X or other sources at all. I just open my Discord and get all the summary from Hermes.
## 2. Tracking & Expanding Investment Strategies
Since I’m trying to diversify into Equities, I need to get up to speed on what key players are doing fast.
And since Hermes has been learning from the daily briefing + tracking key thought leaders, the agent has a lot of context to do better research.
What Hermes does daily is update me on latest prices on key stocks I’m tracking + sharing stress test analysis from time to time
I love doing research with Hermes because it remembers by 3 key theses + my preferences + my risk appetite + my current positions (across crypto, equities, prediction markets) and my rationale for those investments.
It then uses all these things as context to find the right kinds of investment/research tailored to me.
Normal LLM can’t compete with that.
The moat is in the data/context.

Hermes is fascinating because it remembers, it recalls, and it reflects on past information.
The loop that I enjoy is:
Daily cron jobs ➝ Hindsight ingests insights ➝ pull patterns & synthesizes insights across any time period
Recalls things we discussed in past sessions and draw conclusions/relationships from it.
2. Latest model/inference setup

DeepSeek API is so cheap, 75% discount on DeepSeek v4 Pro extended till end of May. DeepSeek v4 Flash is cheap and efficient for simple tasks.
My latest set up is now
- $20/month subscription on Claude to maintain the dashboards
- ~$60/month on DeepSeek API for Hermes (been experimenting with Hermes a lot, paying roughly $2 per day)
Opencode Go is still the #1 choice if you’re setting up Hermes for the first time. It’s only $5 for the first month. I might consider switching back to Opencode Go once DeepSeek API discount ends at the end of May.
## Wrapping it up
Been enjoying Hermes more and more every single week.
Using AI as a learning augment = my go-to approach now.
Can’t remember the last time I do a dedicated non-AI research with Google lol. Been asking questions to only my Hermes or at times Grok (because Grok’s great with X search).
Thanks to Polybond + Hermes setup, I'm more confident in sizing up into PMs bonding strategies. Earning quite decent yields in the past 2 weeks.
The stock picks were also quite nice, although almost every AI picks are going up these days so probably too early to tell if Hermes is smart or just part of the consensus.
I still don't allow Hermes to directly trade (due to hallucinations), what I find very useful are alerts tracking my key positions so that I can gradually exit in a timely manner when they hit my targets.
I do this because I usually bag hold far too long. There would be times when a quick trade turn me into a full-fledged community member, like I'd be buying the dips until the dip keeping dipping. Hermes alerts really help me prevent that from happening again lol.

我在这里使用的是 Hermes Agent 设置，但你也可以将其切换为使用 LLM（不附加 Agent 框架），并使用它们来测试事物。
至于 Hermes Workspace，

X 书签简报：Hermes 查询我过去 24 小时的 X 书签，并通过评分逐一过目，让我知道应该优先处理哪一个。然后我可以要求它总结我喜欢的那些。
每日五大综合：Hermes 反思当天发生的其他简报，挑选出前 5 个见解并解释其重要性
Polybond 早间简报：Hermes 查看 Polybond（我的个人 Polymarket 仪表板）以挖掘潜在的内幕消息、敏锐信号、趋势，并每天推送。如果我想要更多细节，我可以进入仪表板了解更多。
每日简报 = 我目前的个人最爱，因为我根本不需要花时间在 X 或其他来源上刷屏。我只需打开 Discord 就能从 Hermes 那里获得所有摘要。
## 2. 追踪与扩展投资策略
由于我正尝试将投资分散到股票市场，我需要快速了解关键玩家在做什么。

我喜欢与 Hermes 一起做研究，因为它记得我的 3 个关键论点 + 我的偏好 + 我的风险偏好 + 我目前的持仓（涵盖加密货币、股票、预测市场）以及我进行这些投资的理由。
然后，它利用所有这些东西作为上下文，为我找到合适的投资/研究类型。
普通的 LLM 无法与之竞争。
护城河在于数据/上下文。

我目前的设置是
- 每月在 Claude 上花费 20 美元的订阅以维护仪表板
- Hermes 每月大约在 DeepSeek API 上花费 60 美元（一直在大量试验 Hermes，大约每天支付 2 美元）
Opencode Go 仍然是你第一次设置 Hermes 时的首选。第一个月只需 5 美元。一旦 DeepSeek API 的折扣在 5 月底结束，我可能会考虑切换回 Opencode Go。
## 总结

使用 AI 作为学习增强 = 我现在的首选方法。
我不记得上一次在不使用 AI 的情况下专门用 Google 做研究是什么时候了，哈哈。我现在只向我的 Hermes 提问，有时也问 Grok（因为 Grok 擅长 X 搜索）。
多亏了 Polybond + Hermes 的设置，我在配置 PM（预测市场）的债券策略时更有信心了。在过去两周里赚取了相当不错的收益。
选股也很不错，尽管现在几乎所有的 AI 概念股都在上涨，所以现在判断 Hermes 是聪明还是只是随大流可能还为时过早。
我仍然不允许 Hermes 直接交易（由于幻觉问题），我发现非常有用的是追踪我关键持仓的警报，这样当它们达到我的目标时，我可以及时逐步退出。
