## The vibe coding part is solved. Getting customers is the hard part.

Cody Schneider came back on the podcast with two things: a business idea, and the marketing agents that would grow it.
Here is the whole build.
## What a marketing agent actually is

Three parts. All three required.
Unified data across the entire pipeline
A decision loop running on a cadence
Code hosted in the cloud, reading live business data
A linear Zapier workflow is a different animal. So is a chatbot with a personality. Cody wants something narrower and more useful: a process that runs, reads its own results, and improves.

His words: "it's like a virtual employee."
## The business: AI for WordPress

43% of the internet runs on WordPress. Almost nobody is building for it.
Cody has pitched this to three founders who got into YC and needed a pivot. All three passed.
Version one is simple. Lovable, but for WordPress. You chat with AI to build the site. Forms, CRM, and the plugins people usually bundle by hand come included. $29 a month buys tokens.
Greg pushed it further. At 19 he was a partner in an agency that migrated big sites onto WordPress, officially partnered with WordPress. Time.com. TechCrunch.com. He watched how much money moved through that plugin ecosystem.
So the bigger play: find plugins with proven demand and no AI, then build the AI-first version of each.
Yoast SEO → an agent that writes the meta, restructures the content, and adds the internal links itself
WPForms → a conversational agent that qualifies the lead and answers questions
WooCommerce → an AI storekeeper writing product descriptions and abandoned cart flows
Akismet → same idea, spam
Proven demand. Paying customers. Make each one 10x better with agents.
## Then comes the actual hard part

Building the product is work. Finding customers is the wall.
Facebook ads and Google ads are the first two doors.
## What changed on Facebook
Andromeda is Facebook's new ad algorithm. Interest targeting is over.
The AI reads your creative (the image, the text, the video, the script) and reads your landing page. Then it decides who sees the ad.
Which is why Cody calls Facebook the best B2B ad channel that exists right now. He runs ads so specific that maybe ten people in the US have that problem this week. Facebook finds them and delivers a qualified lead.
## Step 01: Research the pain

Perplexity. Scrape Reddit for the pain points and outcomes of your target customer.
Reddit works because it is real dialogue, real people complaining.
Then rank-stack by most referenced and pull the top three. For WordPress those came back as: the plugin layer, performance and speed, security and maintenance.
That is what the ads are about.
## Step 02: Generate the creative
Statics: Google Nano Banana, fed an example ad already running by a competitor or a tangentially related industry.
Video: HeyGen still delivers results. Seedance is where this goes once the stitching problem gets easier, since clips run short and longer videos need frames joined together.
Kai AI holds the image and video models in one place.
Then put a vision model over the output. Does it hit brand style guides? Right fonts, right colors, readable text.
## Step 03: Publish through the Facebook Marketing API
The banned-account stories are real. The agent is rarely the cause.
Accounts get banned when people spam the API pulling hundreds of millions of rows, which violates TOS.
Use the API for writes. Publish, pause, promote.
## Step 04: Build the data layer

Airbyte for the pipeline. ClickHouse for the warehouse. Both open source, both self-hostable.
Pipe in everything: Facebook Ads, Google Analytics, product analytics, HubSpot, Stripe.
That is how you tie one specific ad to actual revenue. It also means you can ask your business questions directly inside Claude Code. "We are having trouble hitting payroll this month, what is going wrong?" Your accounts receivable are off.
## Step 05: Host the agent
Heroku, Railway, any cloud. The Mac mini on your desk is optional.
An agent is code. A live data stream, a decision loop with an LLM thinking inside it, and one outcome to optimize for.
## The loop, running
Two ad sets per day. Five ads per set.
Let them run two to three days for initial signal.
Worst performers get switched off.
Winners enter a winner's pool and compete against each other for budget.
Every ad ever made goes into a database: the JSON prompts sent to Nano Banana, the scripts sent to HeyGen and Seedance. The agent studies that record and gets better at making things that convert.
Data warehouse → agent → Facebook Ads → data warehouse
## Entropy is the real problem

The agent gets stuck thinking the same way. Two fixes Cody has found:
Facebook's Ads Library. Pull competitor ads and feed them in as new DNA.
Transcripts. YouTube and podcasts in your category, mined for insights, turned into ad angles.
Viralo does a version of this too. It scrapes TikTok through an API, so you can ask for the most viral posts in the beauty category last week and read the trend straight off it.
## What this replaces
The old version cost tens of thousands a month in agency retainers. 100 ads was two weeks of work.
Now: an hour and a half, and you own the system.
Greg's warning: most people run a few ads, watch them fail, and quit. The move is to take the same ad and change the positioning 10, 15, 20 times. Compete with Yoast on an anti-Yoast angle. "It makes you do work rather than doing work for you." The winner is usually the one you would have bet against, which is exactly the point.
Cody: "We're not Don Draper."
You put creative into the market and let the market answer. A thousand creatives tested, clear signal inside 48 hours.
Marketing stopped being campaigns. Trends move 10x faster than they did in the early 2000s, most of them start on short-form social, and the loop just keeps running.
## The job

Marketers ask Cody every week whether their job is safe. His answer is a question: can you do this?
The role has a new name. Agent jockey.
Domain knowledge, written into code.
Cody calls himself non-technical and built it anyway. The models got good enough. Hand Claude Code a transcript of the process, ask it to walk you through the build, and go.
One dollar in. Five dollars out.
Keep feeding it.

Cody Schneider

Time.com。TechCrunch.com。
Yoast SEO →
Akismet →

## Facebook

Perplexity。
Kai AI

Cody:“我们不是 Don Draper(《广告狂人》主角)。”
